Inter Milan Reject Man Utd Bid of €45m for Ivan Perisic & Demand Improved Fee as Saga Goes on

Serie A giants Inter Milan have rejected a new bid of €45m from Manchester United for winger Ivan Perisic and are demanding an improved offer.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Inter are holding out for a fee of around €55m for the Croatia international.

United included a number of bonuses in their offer for the player, but Inter reportedly deemed it to be ‘insufficient’.

The Milanese club rejected a €40m bid from United earlier this summer, but are now in a stronger negotiating position with no need to raise funds to meet Financial Fair Play regulations.

The latest development will come as a blow to Jose Mourinho, who has reportedly identified the 28-year-old as the ideal winger to provide the defensive cover he requires.

Recent reports have, however, claimed that Perisic is determined to join up with Mourinho at Old Trafford and will reject the offer of a new contract at Inter.

New Inter coach Luciano Spalletti recently hinted that any player unwilling to play for the club would be moved on this summer.

“We must not convince anyone Inter is the best we can aspire to and they must convince us to be with Inter,” he said.

“I have arrived here at Inter with enthusiasm, if there are people who do not feel this enthusiasm then it’s better to go where they feel inclined to do their job well.”

Former Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg winger Perisic impressed for Inter last season, scoring 11 Serie A goals and providing eight assists.
