Leicester are set to make a second attempt to sign Sporting midfielder Adrien Silva with a €22m offer.

According to Jornal de Notícias (via Sport Witness) the Foxes will face competition from Internazionale and West Brom.

The Baggies are reportedly very keen on the 28-year-old, although Inter are considered favourites to secure his signature.

Neither of the offers are likely to be enough to meet Sporting’s demands, however, with reports claiming that the Portuguese club are demanding at least €30m.

Inter are expected to raise their offer to meet that estimation, but will face continued competition from the two Premier League sides.

Last summer Leicester made a €30m bid for Silva, which was rebuffed because it did not meet Sporting’s then valuation of €45m. Sporting have clearly now lowered their demands for the player, hence the reportedly imminent offer of €22m from Leicester.

Reports in Portugal have also claimed that West Brom have seen a €26m offer rejected, which could leave Leicester with little prospect of their bid proving successful.

The Leicester Mercury, meanwhile, claim that reports of interest in Silva could be wide of the mark due to the Foxes numerous midfield options, including the recent signing of Sevilla’s Vicente Iborra.
