Inter will be desperate to come away from Genoa with three points on Saturday as they chase a top three finish this term. That’s easier said than done though, considering Genoa came out victorious in this fixture at the tail end of last season.
I Rossoblu have also won back-to-back Serie A games, and are coming into this home clash full of confidence against Luciano Spalletti’s side.
Here’s the side Spalletti will likely deploy to get the win on Saturday:
Inter’s ever present stopper will continue in goal this Saturday.
Milan Skriniar is finding his feet as a starter this term under the new coach, and his stock seems to be rising with every performance. His regular defensive partner Joao Miranda will be absent with abductor issues however, and will likely be replaced by Andrea Ranocchia.
The versatile left back Danilo D’Ambrosio will start in his natural position, while Joao Cancelo continues to ply his trade on the right.
Inter starlet Yann Karamoh scored a superb solo effort against Bologna last week – ending a two month winless run – and will likely be rewarded with a start against Genoa.
Yann Karamoh and Ivan Perisic will provide the width for the front men, despite the Croatian going through a turbulent period recently, failing to score in his last 11.
Borja Valero will look to dictate from deep and break up play on the day, while Marcelo Brozovic occupies the free role behind the two forwards and looks to bag his fifth league assist of this term.
Marco Icardi will return to the squad if deemed fit by Spalletti, and his goals have been sorely missed in recently. Sitting miles atop the scoring list at Inter on 18 league goals, with Perisic closest behind on seven. The Argentine will be hoping to fire his side to victory this weekend.
