Diego Godin seems set to leave Inter after only one season, as Cagliari have reportedly found a solution to bring the 34-year-old to Sardinia.
FCInterNews claims Inter are prepared to guarantee the defender, who arrived from Atletico Madrid last summer, payment of the first three months of his current contract at San Siro.
The report reveals Cagliari have reached an agreement with the veteran for €2.5m a year plus bonuses for the next three seasons.
A surprise move has been set up for the Nerazzurri to free themselves from his salary and give Cagliari the opportunity to add a highly experienced defender to their ranks at the Sardegna Arena.
Godin played 36 competitive games for the Beneamata last term, scoring twice in the process, helping Inter to second in Serie A, the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia and the Europa League Final, eventually finishing runners-up behind Sevilla.
