Spezia striker Roberto Piccoli scored his first Serie A goal against Inter today: ‘Vieri and Ibra are my role models,’ he said after the game.
The 19-year-old joined the newly-promoted Serie A side on loan from Atalanta last summer.
“I want to thank the team and the coach. It’s a dream to score a goal in this stadium,” the Italian striker told Sky Sport.
“We are sorry for the defeat, but we need to work hard and look ahead.”
Who are his role models?
“When I was at Atalanta [Duvan] Zapata was my master. I like strikers who work for the team and are ruthless in front of the goal.
“I’ve always liked also [Christian] Vieri and [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic.
“Atalanta’s youth sector is one of the best in Europe,” he added.
“They teach you how to play football, I was lucky to have been coached by ex-players like [Marco] Zanchi and [Stefano] Lorenzi, Atalanta have a youth sector that helps youto grow as a man and as a footballer.”
