Napoli striker Dries Mertens became the first Belgian to score 100 goals in Serie A and celebrated with a message for Romelu Lukaku.
Mertens netted a brace in the Azzurri’s 2-0 win over Roma on Sunday.
The first one came from a free-kick, while the second one was a header after a well-worked move set up by Lorenzo Insigne and Matteo Politano.
The 33-year-old celebrated his achievement on Twitter: “Very proud of this new milestone: First Belgian player to reach 100 goals in Serie A. Hurry up Romelu Lukaku.”
Mertens has 133 goals in 349 games with Napoli across all competitions.
Lukaku, who joined Inter in the summer of 2019, has 59 goals in 85 games in all competitions with the Nerazzurri and 42 goals in 64 Serie A matches.
How long will he take to reach his compatriot?
