Denmark bag eight, last-gasp Spain in Georgia

Serie A players were decisive when Denmark earned the 8-0 win over Moldova, while Spain left it to the last minute against Georgia.

The Danes managed to find the net five times in a 21-minute spell in the first half alone.

Milan defender Simon Kjaer and Inter’s Christian Eriksen were rested, but other Serie A players stepped into the breach.

Kasper Dolberg converted a penalty, then Bologna midfielder Andreas Skov Olsen provided two assists for Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard to bag a brace.

Udinese wing-back Jens Stryger Larsen also got a rare goal.

Mathias Jensen was on target, then Damsgaard turned provider with the assist for Dolberg’s header.

Substitute Robert Skov and Marcus Ingvartsen rounded out the 8-0 thrashing.

Edy Reja’s Albania lost 2-0 at home to England, with Harry Kane and Mason Mount getting the goals.

The real surprise was in Georgia, where Spain had to fight back from the Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opener.

Juventus striker Alvaro Morata and Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz started, but it took a Ferran Torres goal and stoppage-time strike from Dani Olmo which the goalkeeper palmed onto the underside of the bar to give Spain victory.
