Italian Report Claims Jurgen Klopp Is Unmoved Over Inter’s Alleged Interest in Key Man

Despite being on an apparent Internazionale shortlist of potential targets this summer, Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp have deemed Sadio Mané – who only arrived at Anfield one year ago – ‘unsellable’ according to a report in Italy.

The Nerazzurri have been monitoring the 25-year-old, and he is one of a number of names on the list that could be targeted as part of a big money summer revamp at San Siro, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Both AC Milan and Inter are going through massive transitional phases as the clubs hope to put the city of Milan back amongst the European elite. Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s transfer to AC Milan was the club’s sixth signing already this summer, with Atalanta’s Andrea Conti set to become the Rossoneri’s seventh.

Inter have fallen desperately behind their city rivals this summer, despite having a long list of transfer targets. The Nerazzurri are highly-unlikely to prise Player of the Year Mane away from Liverpool, who is a key part of Klopp’s plans next season alongside new arrival and former AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah.

Klopp is rightly understood to not be entertaining any offers that come in for Mané after the Senegalese forward had a standout campaign under Klopp last season. Mané was involved in 19 goals in the Premier League last season before an injury in April saw an end to his campaign.

Instead, Inter are far more likely to pursue other attacking targets on their list such as Douglas Costa, Yevhen Konoplyanka, Federico Bernardeschi or Florian Thauvin, particularly if current stars Antonio Candreva and Man Utd target Ivan Perisic depart in the near future.
