Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that t
Young has made 12 appearances for the Red Devils this season, but he has been used sparingly in recent weeks. Solskjaer left Young on the bench for Man Utd’s recent 2-0 defeat to Arsenal, and his final appearance for the Premier League giants may have come in their victory over Burnley in December.
Man Utd lack experience throughout the squad, and Young was appointed as the club captain in 2019, playing in 30 league matches over the course of last season. The Red Devils offered the defender a one-year extension following Inter’s interest, but he turned down the deal, and instead looks set to sign a contract until June 2021 at San Siro.
Inter have done plenty of business with Man Utd in recent months, as I Nerazzurri signed wantaway striker Romelu Lukaku and outcast Alexis Sanchez in the summer. Lukaku has been a revelation for the Italian side, bagging 14 goals in 18 league games, while Sanchez scored on his debut before suffering a serious injury.
Conte is keen to bolster his squad ahead of Inter’s title race with Juventus, and with the two sides neck-and-neck at the top of the table, Young’s experience and versatility could prove crucial for Inter.
