Conte won’t comment ahead of Inter summit

Inter held a Scudetto celebration party this afternoon, but Antonio Conte refused to answer when asked if he would remain at the club ahead of tomorrow’s crunch meeting.

The Nerazzurri are about to go on vacation, having already won the Serie A title, with their final game against Udinese this weekend.

News agency ANSA reports there was a lunch party on a restaurant’s terrace in Milan today, with coach Conte, his staff, vice-president Javier Zanetti and all the players attending.

When Conte left, Calciomercato.com reporters asked if he was staying at Inter, but the coach refused to engage, got into his car and wound up the window before driving off.

According to Sport Mediaset, Conte is set to meet with President Steven Zhang tomorrow to discuss the future strategy of the club.

Directors Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Alessandro Antonello are also set to attend, with Conte likely to demand guarantees on the transfer market and funding.

There was news today with American fund Oaktree Capital agreeing to purchase a 30 per cent stake in the club for a reported €275m.
